Hot cracking

Hot cracking

Hot cracking describes cracks that can occur during solidification or at high temperatures in the welding process. In aluminium welding, it is a particularly important topic because certain alloy combinations can be sensitive.

Influencing factors include chemical composition, solidification behavior, heat input, component stress, weld geometry and filler metal. Selecting the right welding wire can significantly help reduce the risk.

berAlweld® aluminium welding wires from bedra are designed for different requirements and applications. They support users in selecting suitable alloy concepts for stable and high-quality aluminium welding processes.
