High-conductivity alloys

Advantages of high-conductivity alloys

For high-conductivity alloy bars, including copper busbars, copper tubes, and profiled bars, bedra employs large-tonnage vacuum casting technology and rigorous quality management processes. By precisely controlling the size and distribution of precipitated phases, bedra ensures uniform composition and microstructure. For the flagship product bedra18150 alloy, the hardness (HRB) reaches 85 or higher, while electrical conductivity exceeds 88% IACS. This material meets the stringent requirements of high-speed cold upsetting machining and is widely applied in various industry fields including smart terminal devices, welding equipment, special motors (e.g., rail transit and power systems), medical devices, the steel industry, UHV power transmission and transformation systems, precision die-casting molds, and other advanced industries.

Overview of high-conductivity alloys

Al2O3 Dispersion Strengthened Copper

bedra15725

  • bedra15725 is a low-alumina-content dispersion-strengthened copper, incorporating aluminum oxide (ceramic) particles within a copper matrix.
  • The thermally stable nano-scale Al₂O₃ particles retard copper recrystallization, significantly increasing resistance to thermal softening and enhancing mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. It combines high electrical and thermal conductivity with good strength at elevated temperatures.

To the alloy

bedra15760

  • bedra15760 is a high-alumina-content dispersion-strengthened copper (DSC) alloy, incorporating aluminum oxide (ceramic) particles within a copper matrix.
  • The thermally stable nano-scale Al₂O₃ particles retard copper recrystallization, significantly enhancing resistance to thermal softening and mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. It offers high strength at elevated temperatures while maintaining favorable electrical and thermal conductivities.

To the alloy

Chromium Zirconium Copper

bedra15000

  • bedra15000 is a high-performance copper-zirconium alloy that combines excellent electrical and thermal conductivity with good processability, making it versatile for industrial applications in the electronics, aerospace, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

To the alloy

bedra15100

  • bedra15100 is an important and unique copper alloy with high electrical conductivity, hardness, ductility, moderate strength, and excellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures.
  • The addition of 0.05 to 0.15% Zr to copper results in a heat-treatable copper alloy, which may be solution treated and subsequently aged to produce these desirable properties.

To the alloy

bedra18150

  • bedra18150 is easy to weld and has good wear resistance. It is widely used in motor commutators, spot welding electrodes, seam welding electrodes, butt welding electrodes, and other applications requiring high temperature resistance, strength, hardness, and electrical conductivity.

To the alloy

bedra18200

  • bedra18200 offers high electrical and thermal conductivity and good wear resistance. It maintains mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, making it suitable for applications involving heat.

To the alloy

bedra18160

  • bedra18160  combines excellent electrical and thermal conductivity with enhanced mechanical strength and resistance to softening at elevated temperatures, achieved through precipitation hardening. Zirconium prevents electrode sticking during spot welding of galvanized steel, while a minor addition of silicon (Si) further improves the alloy's thermal stability.

To the alloy

bedra18155

  • A high copper alloy with higher additions of Cr and Zr than C18150. This alloy is strengthened by precipitation hardening and it shows very good electrical and heat conductivity combined with high strength and high thermal stability after heat treatment.

To the alloy

Copper Nickel Silicon

bedra18000

  • With good welding capacity and wear resistance, bedra18000 is widely used in motor commutators, electrodes for spot welding, seam welding, butt welding, and other applications requiring high temperature resistance, high strength, high conductivity, and high hardness. However, it is not suitable for surface hardening or penetration treatment.

To the alloy

MouldMet270

  • It is a high-performance alloy with low nickel and silicon content. It is precipitation hardened, offering high strength, hardness, good electrical conductivity, excellent wear resistance, and superior formability. It is an ideal substitute for beryllium copper alloys.

To the alloy

bedra64700

  • bedra64700 is a heat-treatable and can be cold worked to enhance mechanical strength. It offers excellent wear and corrosion resistance in both marine and industrial environments. Its low friction properties enable its use in plunger tips for die casting machines. Additionally, the alloy possesses high electrical and thermal conductivity along with good notch toughness.

To the alloy

MouldMet300

  • MouldMet300 is a high-performance alloy with low nickel and silicon content. It is precipitation hardened, offering high strength, hardness, good electrical conductivity, excellent wear resistance, and superior formability.
  • MouldMet300 is an ideal substitute for beryllium copper alloys.

To the alloy

Copper Iron Phosphorus

bedra19210

  • bedra19210 offers excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, combined with good resistance to softening. It provides moderate strength, outstanding bend formability, excellent corrosion resistance, and good electroplating performance. In addition, it is not susceptible to stress corrosion cracking.

To the alloy

Copper

bedra10100

  • bedra10100 exhibits excellent thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and machinability.
  • bedra10100 readily withstands processes such as stretching, piercing, extrusion, winding, deep drawing, and hot forging.

To the alloy

bedra10200

  • bedra10200 is produced from selected refined cathodes by direct conversion under carefully controlled conditions to prevent contamination by oxygen and other impurities.
  • bedra10200 exhibits exceptionally high electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as good corrosion resistance and solderability. Due to its extremely low oxygen content, it is suitable for gas welding or high-temperature brazing without embrittlement or "gassing" when heated in a reducing atmosphere.

To the alloy

bedra11000

  • bedra11000 exhibits excellent thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and machinability.
  • bedra11000 readily withstands processes such as stretching, piercing, extrusion, winding, deep drawing, and hot forging. Under normal conditions, it is free from hydrogen embrittlement and can be processed in reducing atmospheres; however, it is unsuitable for use or processing in high-temperature oxidizing environments.
