Characteristics:
This alloy is an important and unique copper alloy with high electrical conductivity, hardness, ductility, moderate strength, and excellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. The addition of 0.05 to 0.15% Zr to copper results in a heat-treatable copper alloy, which may be solution treated and subsequently aged to produce these desirable properties.
Typical applications:
Electrodes and caps for resistance welding aluminum car bodies, high-voltage DC contactors, high-voltage connectors, charging sockets and plugs.
