Advantages of bercoweld® brazing wire and welding wire

bercoweld® wires for brazing and welding offers significant advantages. The automotive industry has impressively demonstrated how galvanized sheets can be joined with copper wire without the need for costly reworking. Here, so-called tailored blanks, tailor-made components made from thin sheets of different qualities are laser, hard or high-temperature brazed with bercoweld®. Subsequent treatment and galvanizing of the joint seam are no longer necessary, but the corrosion protection remains intact. This allows enormous cost and energy savings. The advantages of brazing with copper alloys at a glance:

    • Optimal gap bridging
    • Low joining temperatures
    • Low energy consumption
    • Low heat penetration reduces distortion of the base material
    • No galvanizing of the joint required

In terms of numbers, working with copper brazing wires can result in savings of up to 30 percent in manufacturing costs compared to conventional steel wires. We can look similarly at energy demand: The savings potential here is up to 20 percent. In the context of rising energy prices, in particular due to the imminent taxation of COemissions, this area is of particular importance.

bercoweld® brazing and welding wires are available in all common designs: Spools (plastic or wire basket), barrels, rods, and rings. Upon request, rods are also available in embossed versions – even in the smallest batch sizes and in special alloys according to customer requirements.

With the innovative bedrabox you can further increase your productivity. If you opt for bercoweld® from the innovative bedrabox, the high filling quantity and continuous wire run-off speed mean that the time-consuming work of changing spools is no longer necessary. So downtimes in production can be enormously reduced.

3D printing with bercoweld® brazing wire and welding wire

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, offers unprecedented possibilities and great savings potential. This enables the individual and flexible production of components with completely new forms and functionalities without any loss of material as with classic manufacturing processes.

Our high-alloy aluminium bronzes are particularly suitable for 3D printing and deliver proven bercoweld® advantages of corrosion resistance and a high basic material hardness:

Due to our own foundries and many years of expertise in the development of new copper-based materials, it is also possible for us to develop new materials far removed from the current product portfolios at any time.

    Our highlights

    bercoweld®  A8

bercoweld®  A8 is very suitable for hard soldering and welding galvanized steels. Very good corrosion and wear resistance. Preheating is recommended for large workpieces.

    To the alloy

    bercoweld® S2

With the bercoweld® S2 wire electrode, welding and brazing processes in automotive engineering are significantly optimized. The copper solder wire offers even better functionalities such as optimized flow properties, better gap bridging, and higher processing speed.

This filler material has been specially designed for use on coated sheets for the automotive industry. Good flowing weld pool, no tendency for pore or splatter formation are only some of the advantages. Suitable for welding Cu and Cu alloys as well as unalloyed and low-alloyed steels and cast iron.

    To the alloy

    bercoweld® S3

bercoweld® S3 is used for galvanized body panels in the automotive industry, coatings on low-alloy steels, solenoid valves and switch cabinets.
