Characteristics:
It is a special high-strength nickel-aluminum bronze alloy with a significant addition of iron. The inclusion of nickel and iron boosts the alloy's strength without reducing its excellent ductility, toughness, and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The alloy offers outstanding anti-galling and wear-resistant properties. It is widely used in aerospace and marine applications.
Typical applications:
Typical applications for BearMet 221 include aerospace landing gear components, wing flap bearings, marine fasteners (bolts and nuts), valve spindles, and components. It is also widely used for plunger tips, hydraulic bushings, valve balls, bushings, pump parts, valve guides and seats for automotive engines.
