
Characteristics:
It is a continuous cast high-leaded tin bronze alloy with excellent free-machining properties. It offers excellent lubricity due to its lead content. The alloy possesses moderate strength and good corrosion resistance to mild acids typical of mine water. It is ideal for bearing applications where lubrication is inadequate and minor misalignment may occur.
Typical Applications:
It is widely used as a general-purpose bearing material for high-speed applications under moderate to heavy loads and vibration. It is also employed in crankshafts, bearing plates, machine parts, bushings, and applications requiring acid resistance, such as exposure to sulphite fluids. Additionally, it serves as steel-backed bushes for automotive and aero engine applications subject to poor lubrication.
