Manganese Brass

Characteristics:

It is a copper-based multi-element alloy in the Cu-Zn-Mn-Al-Si-Pb system. The addition of silicon and manganese improves the strength and wear resistance of the alloy, while aluminum increases its yield strength. Moreover, the addition of lead enhances both wear resistance and machinability. This alloy is characterized by high strength and excellent wear resistance due to the presence of wear-resistant phases in its microstructure.

Typical applications:

It is widely used in valve guides, floating and thrust bearings, synchronizer gears for the automotive industry, as well as sliding shoes, oil distribution pans, ball hinges, cylinder blocks, and bushings for the hydraulic industry.
