Characteristics:
This high-copper alloy, containing small additions of chromium (Cr) and zirconium (Zr), is strengthened by precipitation hardening. This treatment significantly enhances the alloy's mechanical strength while maintaining its exceptionally high electrical and thermal conductivity. Furthermore, the zirconium content helps prevent electrode sticking during the spot welding of galvanized steel.
Typical applications:
It is extensively used for spot and seam welding electrodes, particularly cap-style resistance welding electrodes. Its excellent conductivity and mechanical properties make it suitable for electrical contacts, current-carrying shafts, arms, and backup bars in welding and electrical equipment.
