
It is a low-alumina-content dispersion-strengthened copper, incorporating aluminum oxide (ceramic) particles within a copper matrix. The thermally stable nano-scale Al₂O₃ particles retard copper recrystallization, significantly increasing resistance to thermal softening and enhancing mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. It combines high electrical and thermal conductivity with good strength at elevated temperatures.
Typical applications:
It is mainly used for RWMA welding caps and electrodes. It is also used for solder gun tips, MIG contact tips, vacuum tubes, microwave tubes, X-ray tube components, high-voltage DC relay/contactor blades and switches, and glass-to-metal seals.
