Rockwell hardness (HRC)

Rockwell hardness (HRC)

Rockwell hardness is a method for determining the hardness of a material by measuring its resistance to plastic deformation. In the Rockwell hardness test, a diamond cone or steel ball is pressed into the material under a specified load, and the depth of penetration is measured. This method is commonly used for testing metals and is particularly suitable for materials with medium to high hardness. The Rockwell hardness is measured on various scales, with the "C" scale (HRC) being the most commonly used for harder materials such as hardened steels.
