Melting range

Melting range

The melting range is the temperature range between the liquidus temperature and the solidus temperature of an alloy. Within this range, the material transitions from a liquid to a solid state during casting. The solidification process can lead to the formation of different phases and microstructures, which affect the mechanical and physical properties of the material. The melting range is also known as the melting interval or solidification interval.
