Brittleness

Brittleness

Brittleness is the behavior of a material that fractures under stress without significant plastic deformation. Brittle materials have low ductility and often fail suddenly under mechanical loads. This characteristic is particularly observed in materials such as cast iron, ceramics, or high-strength steels.
