At this year’s EMO Hannover 2025, we are setting a new milestone in the world of EDM (electrical discharge machining) with blac technology (bedra lattice amplified coating). This innovative coating takes EDM productivity to an unprecedented level – without requiring any adjustments to existing cutting technologies.

  blac combines a microstructured surface with a lattice-like embedding of semiconductive materials. The result: each spark discharge is coupled into the workpiece more efficiently, allowing a greater portion of the available energy to be converted into material removal.

  Users benefit from significantly higher cutting performance – both in the main cut and in the first three trim cuts – while maintaining the high level of process reliability they are accustomed to. In addition, blac contributes to energy efficiency in production.
