Berkenhoff’s participation in the international trade fair „Schweißen + Schneiden“ was an important step towards the further development of the company’s market activities. Although some customer sectors are in a crises, the interest in high-quality copper-based welding wires is high which has encouraged the company to address new target groups – and they have some strong points to offer.

bedra: Career start at Berkenhoff
On 1 September, 9 young women and men started their apprenticeship at Berkenhoff. Punctually at 8 o’clock they were welcomed by the Managing Director Mathias Kühn and the Training Coordinator Peter Biek in the Ber-kenhoff Competence Center of the Merkenbach factory. There followed an exciting day full of new impressions at one of the world’s largest fine wire manufacturers.

bedra edm: 30 years of cobracut – the original
When experts think of reliable cutting with highest precision, they automatically associate it with cobracut from Berkenhoff, the EDM wire that has set standards in the industry. Launched in 1979 under the umbrella brand bedra, this coated EDM wire was the result of a joint development project between Berkenhoff and the machine supplier Agie. Often copied but never equalled - the original from Berkenhoff has been synonymous with zinc coated high performance electrodes for 30 years now.

topas plus X has been developed especially for Charmilles machines with X-technology and attains up to 35 percent higher cutting speeds as compared to brass wire - even under unfavourable flushing conditions. Resetting of the machine parameters is not required.
